SOTO ZEN TEMPLE "keijuzan ryuunji


Ryuunji, zen temple, opened in 1532 by Buddhist priest “Daiyousoushun”. There are grave of the Yamamoto’s family and of course Joucho too. This temple also have a grave of “takuzusho shigetomi” who gave the name “matsukame” to Joucho when he was a small.

Joucho’s grave sit in the middle of this grave yard and engraved “kyokuzan jouchou anshu” in front of the tombstone. Little bit off aside, there is a tombstone for praying to the Buddha for the repose of their doughter’s couples soul, who died at young. Under that tombstone, they bury little rocks which engraved a sutra’s words one by one.

By Bus from JR SAGA Station : Take a bus number 26 or 27. Get off the bus stop at "Jizo Mae". 3 minute to walk from there.
